The Full Interview with Viktoriia Andreasen, Head of Marketing
Your €125,000 Network Tournament Series sounds amazing! How many participants are you expecting in total?
We anticipate several thousand participants, which is in line with the growing demand for competitive, engaging iGaming experiences. Our tournaments are designed to appeal to both casual players and more experienced operators’ customers. From a marketing standpoint, we leverage multi-channel campaigns across our partner networks, including newsletters, push notifications, and social media activations, to ensure maximum awareness and participation. This broad reach also allows us to collect valuable player behavior insights, which inform future game design and promotional strategies.
Will your tournament series be available on all your partner casinos or only on a few selected sites?
Our tournament series will be accessible on the majority of our partner casinos, ensuring players have multiple options to participate and engage with our content. This broad integration helps us maximize visibility across different markets and player segments, driving consistent engagement throughout the tournament period.
How do players participate in the tournaments? They just open one of the featured games and play like normal, or do they need to pay some kind of entry fee?
Participation is seamless and free of charge. Players simply engage with the featured Platipus games during the tournament period, playing as they normally would. There’s no separate entry fee, which removes friction and encourages wider participation. From a marketing perspective, this approach increases conversion rates and repeat engagement, as players feel included and motivated without financial barriers. Additionally, it allows us to highlight key games and features naturally, reinforcing brand awareness across the player base.
How exactly do you win? Is it based on multiplier win or some other formula? Any limits on the number of spins or attempts?
Winners are determined by a points-based system that combines both multiplier achievements and total win amounts during gameplay. There are no limits on spins or attempts, allowing players to participate freely at their own pace.
This format not only promotes longer gameplay sessions and increases engagement, but also provides valuable data for marketing and product teams to analyze player behavior and optimize future campaigns.
Platipus will give prizes to the top 150 in each tournament, unlike Slotsoo’s own tournaments where the winner takes it all. Why did you decide on this approach?
Our philosophy is that more winners create more engagement and satisfaction. By rewarding the top 150 players, we generate a broader sense of achievement and encourage players to participate in multiple stages. This approach aligns with our marketing strategy: it promotes repeat engagement, social sharing, and word-of-mouth awareness, creating long-term loyalty rather than short-term spikes. From a branding perspective, it reinforces Platipus as a player-centric and community-oriented provider.
Could you elaborate how the €25,000 prize pool is shared between the players? How much does first place get, for example?
The prize pool is distributed progressively, with first place typically receiving €5,000, and the remaining €20,000 divided among the next 149 players in decreasing amounts. This ensures that top performers are highly rewarded, while also giving smaller prizes to a wider group, which sustains motivation and engagement. Marketing-wise, this structure allows us to highlight multiple winners, generating ongoing social media content, PR stories, and partner communications that emphasize Platipus’ commitment to inclusive competition.
Each stage in your new series only lasts for a limited number of days. Why did you decide to do 3 days instead of the whole month?
Short, high-intensity stages maintain excitement and urgency. A 3-day tournament keeps players fully engaged, ensuring every spin counts. Longer tournaments often see a decline in engagement mid-stage, whereas shorter bursts maximize participation, retention, and marketing impact. From a campaign management perspective, shorter stages allow us to promote each stage effectively, analyze engagement in real-time, and adjust communications dynamically for the next stage.
Last question! Since our readers are from all over Europe we would like to know if there are any country restrictions in place?
The tournaments are open to players in most regulated European markets, ensuring compliance with local laws. Certain jurisdictions may have restrictions, and we always make sure to adhere strictly to regulatory requirements. From a marketing perspective, this compliance reassures operators and players alike, highlighting Platipus’ commitment to safe, fair, and responsible gaming across all territories.
