Five quick questions with Markus

Malta is where it started – can you tell us more about that?

I finished high school in 2012 and had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. On a random summer day I saw a job opening for Swedish speakers at a large casino based on Malta, and just decided to go for it. The cold was coming and I just had no desire to stay! This temporary “in-between” job on Malta turned out to be a 8 year adventure, where I grew both in my career, as a person and as a casino enthusiast. Best time of my life! And not so coincidentally, MGA casinos are also a given favorite.

What is your favourite industry “secret” for slot lovers?

No secrets I haven’t already shared on Slotsoo. I write here for a reason – to share my expertise with other slot enthusiasts. But I suppose my favourite “secret” is that you sometimes can get a little personal bonus just by asking for it in customer service, especially if you just lost a big bet!

How did you end up at Slotsoo?

I felt ready for a more free lifestyle, where I could combine my passion for writing I’ve had since I was a child with my newly founded fascination for casinos. So I founded Slotsoo with Jonas, who I met whilst living on Malta. It was 2017 and we both juggled the site on the side of our full-time jobs for about 2 years. Then finally, we took a leap of faith and made Slotsoo our main focus. Couldn’t see it another way.

What is your favorite hiking trail?

As much as I love the south of Europe, Kebnekaise in the north of Sweden has such a special place in my heart. One of the most beautiful views I’ve yet to see!

Stockholm or Malta?

Stockholm in the summer, Malta all other times. Is that a good enough answer?
