All You Need to Know about the MARE BALTICUM Gaming & TECH Summit
Hipther’s Mare Balticum Gaming & TECH Summit 2023 will be held in Riga next week between 16th-17th May. The event has grown a lot during its six years and is now considered the most popular conference in the Baltics and the Nordics for the two industries. Here is a preview of the event and what take aways regular players can expect from it.
An Important Event for the Baltic and Nordic Casino Industry
The tickets for Mare Balticum Gaming & TECH Summit were sold out in 2022 and the history is expected to repeat itself this year. Zoltan Tuendik, the CO-founder of Hipther, which is the arranger behind this popular event, gives us a heads-up of the people that will be attending:
With C-level executives, compliance experts, government officials and influencers from the iGaming, Esports, blockchain, AI and fintech industries, we can’t wait to welcome everyone.
We had look at the list of the speakers, and saw many important names in the industry, from regulatory directors to CEOs of different companies active in the region. This includes:
- Signe Birne – Director of Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspection of the Republic of Latvia
- Gustaf Hoffstedt – Secretary-General at the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling
- Marina Davidova – Head of Customer Support and Responsible Gambling for Enlabs | Entain
- Henrik Norsk Hoffmann – Partner at Nordic Gambling
- Henrik Mägi – Advisor at Estonian Ministry of Finance
- Tīna Lūse – Attorney-at-Law, Head of the Fintech Latvia Association
- Heikki Koivula – Senior iGaming Compliance Advisor at Legal Gaming Attorneys at Law
Many Interesting Topics to be Discussed
Unlike other conferences such as ICE and SIGMA, Mare Balticum Gaming & TECH Summit doesn’t focus whole-hearthedly on the casino industry. Instead, it also covers the following topics:
- iGaming
- eSports
- Blockchain
- Artificial Intelligence
- Fintech
- Virtual Reality
- FashionTech
- Mobility
- Climate Change
Many of these topics are directly related to online casinos, and that is why we think it is interesting to our readers as well. For example, players can be introduced to new instant banking providers or learn more about using Blockchain to deposit Bitcoin at Crypto Casinos.
Artificial Intelligence has been the hot potato for 2023, and the casino industry is no exception. Companies come with new ways to use AI to create a better and safer gaming experience.
By keeping up with the news in the industry you can ensure that you are getting the best value and that you are not settling for less. And you will also not be taken by surprise when new regulations are introduced that alter what deposits, games or bonuses a casino can offer.
BSG Awards Celebrating Baltic and Scandinavian Success
There is an abundance of Awards in the casino industry (we are jumping on the train soon with Slotsoo Casino Awards). During next week’s event, the Baltic and Scandinavian Gaming Awards 2023 will also hold their prize ceremony.
The BSG Awards consist of 28 categories; 14 specifically for the Baltics and 14 for the Nordics. During the same night, BTECH will also hold their awards, bringing the total bounty to 36 trophies.
Each year’s process start with a nomination period followed by online voting. After this, the shortlisted candidates will be introduced. The final winners are decided on the day of the event, with the help of a special voting session.
Some interesting shortlisted candidates this year are the payment providers Zimpler and Trustly, plus the slot provider Yggdrasil. At Slotsoo we keep an eye out for different casino awards, since these tend to be good sign of quality. But of course we always do our own first-hand research, too.
